NCDOT Will Temporarily Close A Section Of Big Lick Road In Stanly County For Bridge Replacement Work Tuesday, June 10, 2014

CHARLOTTE – Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a section of Big Lick Road west of Oakboro at 8 a.m. Monday, June 16. The closure is necessary to replace the existing bridge over Island Creek.

 

During the closure, traffic will be detoured from Big Lick Road to Island Creek Road to Oak Grove Road to Griffin Green Boulevard back to Big Lick Road. The bridge should open to traffic by November 4, while vegetation and reforestation work can continue through May 5, 2015.

 

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
