This work is part of NCDOT’s Salem Creek Connector project, a new 1.1-mile, four-lane road with a median from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive south of Winston-Salem State University to Rams Drive at the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter. The project includes the construction of 11 bridges, a roundabout at Salem Avenue and City Yard Drive, and a diverging diamond interchange at U.S. 52. When complete, the Salem Creek Connector will improve mobility, reduce congestion and improve safety in this area.
The department urges motorists to “know before you go” about traffic conditions on U.S. 52.
