Bring Your Bicycle On Board the Train Monday, April 21, 2014

Warmer spring temperatures in North Carolina make for perfect bicycle-riding weather. Did you know you can take your bicycle on the Piedmont train at no charge? Whether you’re visiting family or friends and planning to ride with them, or exploring the downtowns surrounding our train stations, we make it easy to bring your bike!

The Piedmont has room for five bicycles. Bikes can be walked up and are stored in the baggage/lounge car. Due to limited space, advance reservation is required for each bicycle when booking a ticket. The bike racks are frequently full on weekends and holidays year-round, so make sure to book in advance.

The Piedmont departs Raleigh daily at 6:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., and departs Charlotte at noon and 5:15 p.m. daily, with stops at cities in between. Visit Amtrak’s webpage for more information on bringing your bicycle on board.
