NCDOT Will Temporarily Close A Section of Poplin Road In Union County For Bridge Replacement Tuesday, April 15, 2014

CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close Poplin Road over South Fork Crooked Creek in Indian Trail at 9 a.m. Monday, April 21, weather permitting. A $1.6 million contract was awarded earlier this month to Blythe Construction Inc. to replace the existing bridge.

While the bridge is closed, motorists will be detoured from Poplin Road to Rocky River Road to Unionville-Indian Trail Road back to Poplin Road. The contractor should have the bridge open to traffic by November 15. Reforestation and vegetation establishment can continue through May 14, 2015.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
