Chandler Named Division Engineer for NCDOT's Division 12 Thursday, April 03, 2014

SHELBY — Reuben Chandler has been named the N.C. Department of Transportation’s newest division engineer. Chandler will lead NCDOT’s Division 12, which includes Alexander, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell and Lincoln counties. 

“We are proud to name Reuben as Division 12’s new division engineer,” said NCDOT Chief Engineer Mike Holder. “I have worked closely with Reuben for years and have observed his ability to manage large projects, engage the community and build effective and efficient teams.”

Chandler has worked for NCDOT for 30 years. Within the department, he served as assistant resident engineer in Hickory and then as resident engineer in Statesville and Hickory. Chandler has also served as Division 12’s operations engineer, maintenance engineer and construction engineer, and is the only NCDOT employee to have held all three positions.

Chandler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from N.C. State University and is a registered professional engineer.

He lives in Lenoir.
