CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will start a $1.3 million project to replace the bridge on N.C. 218 over Goose Creek in Fairview at 9 a.m. Monday, March 17, weather permitting. The project is scheduled to be completed October 15, with vegetation establishment continuing through April 13, 2015.
While the bridge is closed, a detour will be posted for cars, and a separate detour will be posted for tractor trailers:
· Vehicle Detour: N.C. 218 to U.S. 601 to Old Dutch Road back to N.C. 218.
· Tractor Trailer Detour: N.C. 218 to U.S. 601 to N.C. 24/27 to N.C. 51 to I-485 back to N.C. 218.
