Fayetteville Outer Loop Project Requires Nightly Closure on Section of U.S. 401 Next Week for Bridge Work Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Work to take place Monday and Tuesday nights
RALEIGH – Work on the Fayetteville Outer Loop project will require the nightly closure of U.S. 401 (Ramsey Street) at the I-295 interchange on Monday, Feb. 24 and Tuesday, Feb. 25. The closure is needed to allow the contractor to safely install form work needed to construct the riding surfaces on the bridges that will carry traffic over U.S. 401.
Weather permitting, the closure will be in place from 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24 through 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, and from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, though 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.
A signed detour will be in place, sending northbound U.S. 401 traffic onto I-295 East to River Road, where motorists can get on I-295 West to get back to U.S. 410 North. Southbound motorists will turn right on Andrews Road, then left on McArthur Road to return to U.S. 401. This is the same closure that was in place during a weekend closure last month.
The work is part of a $55.2 million contract awarded Barnhill Contracting Co. of Tarboro to build a 5.2-mile section of the Fayetteville Loop between N.C. 87/210 and U.S. 401. The project is considered about 80 percent complete, and set to be finished this spring.
