NCDOT will Close Lanes on Independence Boulevard in Charlotte Overnight Thursday Tuesday, February 04, 2014

Closures are part of Independence Boulevard widening project

 

CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close westbound lanes on Independence Boulevard near Sharon Amity Road from 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 until 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, weather permitting. The closures are part of the $51 million widening project to convert Independence Boulevard to an expressway between Sharon Amity Road and Wallace Lane.

 

Crews will close the center and right lanes for pavement repairs. NCDOT will utilize local law enforcement to assist with traffic control.

 

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
