NCDOT Replacing Bridge Over Hunting Creek Friday, January 17, 2014

SHELBY – The N.C. Department of Transportation is replacing a bridge over Hunting Creek in Rutherford County, and a portion of Andrews Mill Road will be closed starting Monday, Jan. 20, while crews install the new structure.

Construction on the new bridge over Hunting Creek is expected to continue through Monday, June 30. The new bridge will be wider and longer than the current structure, which was built in 1954. The bridge replacement project will cost $367,426.

During the bridge replacement, motorists traveling northbound through the area will follow detour signs on to Gun Club Road to Robinson Creek Road, then take Pearidge Road back to Andrews Mill Road. Motorists traveling southbound will reverse the detour.
