Bridge Replacement Project on Tot Hill Farm Road in Randolph County Friday, January 10, 2014

Crews replacing existing timber bridge with concrete
RALEIGH —A section of Tot Hill Farm Road will be closed beginning Monday, Jan. 13, as N.C. Department of Transportation crews replace the bridge over Bettie McGee’s Creek, weather permitting.

Tot Hill Farm Road will be closed near the bridge replacement until May 13. Motorists will need to use N.C. 49 to avoid the closure.

Tot Hill Farm Golf Club will remain open during the construction and can be accessed using the southern entrance on Tot Hill Farm Road.

The timber bridge, which was built in 1964, is deemed structurally deficient and functionally obsolete.  This means that while the bridge is safe, it needs to be replaced in order to meet current and future traffic demands.

The $833,221 project was awarded to R.E. Burns & Sons Co., Inc. of Statesville in November.
