Bridge Preservation Project on Indian Town Road Begins Tomorrow Monday, December 02, 2013

RALEIGH — Work is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Dec. 3, on an N.C. Department of Transportation bridge preservation project on Indian Grove Road over the U.S. 421/U.S. 701 Bypass in Clinton, weather permitting.

Indian Grove Road will remain open with alternating lane closures across the 46-year old bridge. Crews will preserve the concrete deck overlay and the project should be completed by Dec. 20.

This project is part of the department’s State-Funded Bridge Improvement Program to improve the overall condition of the state’s bridges. The department is investing $810 million over four years to strategically perform preservation or rehabilitation work when possible.
