CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation tonight will continue work on the 6.8-mile I-85 widening project to expand the interstate from four to eight lanes from south of Bruton Smith Boulevard (Exit 49) to north of N.C. 73 (Exit 55) in Concord.
At 9 p.m., crews will close the exit ramp from I-85 South to George Liles Parkway (Exit 54) so heavy equipment can safely continue earth removal work. The closure will be in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.
