NCDOT will start improvements at I-85 North/Mallard Creek Church Road interchange in Charlotte next week Friday, September 13, 2013

CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to improve two exit ramps from I-85 North to Mallard Creek Church Road (Exit 46A-B) beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, weather permitting. The project is scheduled to be completed October 25.

Crews will widen both ramps to accommodate dual left turn lanes for motorists exiting the interstate to Mallard Creek Church Road. Existing concrete islands on Mallard Creek Church Road will also be widened and extended to complement the turn lanes.

Lane closures are permitted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews can work at night or on weekends with department approval.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
