NCDMV Brings ID Cards, Driver License Renewals and Duplicates

To 67th North Carolina Apple Festival

RALEIGH – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will join the fun at North Carolina’s 67th Apple Festival, bringing its mobile unit to Hendersonville’s Main Street, between 6th and 7th streets. The unit will be open for business from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31, and will be open to provide information on Sunday.

DMV will offer opportunities for festival-goers to renew their driver licenses, as long as no written or road test is required. Driver licenses are issued, through age 65 for eight years, and are priced at $4 per year. Drivers over 65 are issued licenses for five years.

Duplicate driver licenses to replace lost or damaged credentials may be ordered at the mobile unit. Additionally, ID cards for children and adults can also be ordered. Both items cost $10 each. The DMV mobile unit will also provide state roadmaps and driver handbooks.

DMV urges citizens to come prepared with the necessary documents to order ID cards. Citizens applying for an ID card for the first time will need to provide proof of their full name and date of birth. They will also need to provide a Social Security card and proof of residency in North Carolina. A full list of acceptable documents is available on the official NCDMV website.
