CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will begin a $638,000 project to replace the bridges on Doster Road over Twelve Mile Creek and on Corinth Church Road over Beaver Dam Creek in Monroe at 9 a.m. Monday, August 5, weather permitting.
Contractor Bullseye Construction Inc. will remove each bridge, install new guardrail, and improve the approaches to the bridges on Doster Road and Corinth Church Road. During construction, motorists can follow these posted detours:
- Doster Road: Tom Laney Road to Crow Road to Potter Road to Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road back to Doster Road.
- Corinth Church Road: Fletcher Broome Road to Doster Road back to Corinth Church Road.
Construction of both bridges should be completed by November 27, with reforestation and vegetation work continuing through May 25, 2014.
