RALEIGH —A section of N.C. 24 between Moltonville Road and Rowan Road in Clinton will be closed beginning Monday, Aug. 5 at 8 a.m., until Aug. 16, as N.C. Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance work.
The bridge on N.C. 24 over Six Runs Creek was built in 1956 and is deemed structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. This means the bridge is safe, but it needs to be updated to meet current and future traffic demands.
Motorists traveling on N.C. 24 should use Moltonville Road and Rowan Road to avoid the closure.
