RALEIGH — Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close Lick Fork Creek Road between Quick Road and Longbranch Road in Rockingham County, beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 29, to replace the bridge over Lick Fork Creek. Construction of the new bridge is expected to be complete by Dec. 1.

Motorists will use the following signed detour route:
  • Lick Fork Creek Road to U.S. 158 to Park Springs Road to Quick Road back to Lick Fork Creek Road.
This project is part of the department’s overall bridge program to improve the condition of the state’s bridges. Investments in our transportation infrastructure provide better access and support economic growth across the state.
