U.S. 74/76 Bridge in Wrightsville Beach to be Temporarily Closed Overnight Thursday, July 18, 2013

RALEIGH –The entire U.S. 74/76 bridge in Wrightsville Beach will be closed to traffic nightly beginning at 11:30 p.m. Monday, July 29 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, weather permitting.

In addition, motorists can expect the same closure on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  These closures are necessary to clean and paint the bridge’s structural steel.

General traffic will not be able to cross the bridge. Emergency vehicles will have access.  Law enforcement officers will be stationed on each end of the bridge during the closures.

Information will be placed on the changeable message boards near the project and on the project website prior to these closures.
