Bridge Maintenance Project to Close Lanes on U.S. 17 Bridge in Onslow County Thursday, June 27, 2013

RALEIGH —Lane closures on the U.S. 17 bridge over a Camp Lejeune Marine Base tank trail just north of Holly Ridge begin Monday, July 8 at 8 a.m., as N.C. Department of Transportation crews begin bridge maintenance work.

Daily intermittent lane closures will occur from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Friday, July 19, as crews replace the bridge expansion joints. The expansion joints are the meeting point between two parts of the bridge that allow movement and protect the bridge from damage due to heat and moisture.
