Works Begins on Wade Nash Road Bridge Replacement Project in Fuquay-Varina Monday, June 24, 2013

RALEIGH — Work is under way on a bridge replacement project in Fuquay-Varina. The N.C. Department of Transportation awarded Smith-Rowe, LLC of Mount Airy a $447,937 contract to replace the 53-year-old bridge on Wade Nash Road over a tributary of Basal Creek. A new bridge should be in place by Oct. 31.

The project means Wade Nash Road is closed in that location. Motorists will be detoured onto Piney Grove-Wilbon, Spence Farm and Old Powell Road.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
