Butler Bridge Road, Banner Farm Road in Henderson County to Close Monday for Bridge Replacements Thursday, June 06, 2013

RALEIGH Next week, contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will begin rehabilitation work on two bridges in Henderson County. The project will involve milling the existing bridge deck surfaces and replacing the surface with a latex-modified concrete overlay. 

Starting Monday, June 10, Butler Bridge Road in Mills River will be closed during work on the bridge over the French Broad River. The closure is expected to remain in place for about 60 days.

During the project, motorists should use the following signed detour:

  • N.C. 280 to Fanning Bridge Road to Asheville Highway (U.S. 25) back to Butler Bridge Road.

Also starting Monday, June 10, Banner Farm Road in Horseshoe will be closed during work on the bridge over the French Broad River. The closure is expected to remain in place for about 60 days.

During the project, motorists should use the following signed detour:  

  • Banner Farm Road to Ladson Road to N.C. 191 to South Rugby Road to U.S. 64/Brevard Road back to Banner Farm Road.

The work is part of a $538,360 project to rehabilitate three bridges in Henderson County and one bridge in Haywood County. Project contractor is Lanford Brothers Co. of Roanoke, Va.
