Hunt Road in Davidson County to Close Monday for Bridge Replacement Wednesday, May 22, 2013

RALEIGH — Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close Hunt Road near Denton Road in Davidson County beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27 to replace the bridge over a branch of Lick Creek. Construction of the new bridge is expected to be complete by Aug. 27.

Hunt Road will be closed to through traffic and motorists will use Denton Road and N.C. 8 to navigate around the closure.

The existing bridge was built in 1953 and is considered structurally deficient. This means the bridge is safe, but it needs to be replaced to meet current and future traffic demands.

NCDOT reminds motorists to stay alert, watch signs for construction information and obey the posted speed limit.
