NCDOT to Close Right Lane on Eastbound U.S. 421/Business 40 in Winston-Salem This Week as Bridge Repairs Continue Monday, May 20, 2013

RALEIGH Motorists should expect nighttime lane closures this week on eastbound U.S. 421/Business 40 between Cloverdale Avenue and Broad Street in Winston-Salem as crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation continue making repairs to several bridges across U.S. 421/Business 40.

Tonight, crews will work on the 4th Street and Peters Creek Parkway bridges.  Tuesday night through Thursday night, crews will make repairs to the Peters Creek Parkway bridge.  To accommodate the work, the right lane of U.S. 421/Business 40 will be closed each night from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day, weather permitting.

In addition, the eastbound U.S. 421/Business 40 off-ramp to Peters Creek Parkway (Exit 5A) will be closed tonight and tomorrow night.  During the ramp closures, motorists should take Exit 5B (Broad Street) and turn right onto Broad Street, turn left onto First Street, then turn left onto Peters Creek Parkway.

NCDOT urges motorists traveling through the work zone to go slow, pay attention to construction-related signs and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
