NCDMV Brings ID Cards, License Duplicates, Surprises to Speed Street Friday, May 17, 2013

RALEIGH – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will join the festival at Food Lion’s Speed Street in Charlotte, bringing its mobile unit to the 3rd Street parking lot, between Tryon and Church streets. The unit will be open from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, May 23 through Saturday, May 25.

DMV will provide safe-driving educational materials, state roadmaps, driver handbooks and other surprises. In addition, DMV will offer opportunities for festival-goers to order ID cards for children and adults, and duplicate driver licenses to replace those that might have been lost or damaged. The cost for each is $10.

DMV urges citizens to come prepared with the necessary documents to order ID cards. Citizens applying for an ID card for the first time will need to provide proof of their full name and date of birth. They will also need to provide a Social Security card and proof of residency in North Carolina. A full list of acceptable documents is available on the official NCDMV website.
