Replacement of Bridge on Old River Road begins Monday in Pitt County Thursday, May 09, 2013

RALEIGH — Beginning Monday, May 13 at 8 a.m., N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close a section of Old River Road from Black Place Drive to Benjamin Drive in Greenville to replace the bridge over Johnson’s Mill Run.

The bridge, which was built in 1968, is being replaced in order to upgrade the structure and will be closed until September 25, weather permitting.

Motorists should follow a signed detour using Barrus Construction Road and N.C. 33 to avoid the closure.
