Purefoy Road in Chapel Hill Closed Today for Water Valve Installation Tuesday, April 02, 2013

RALEIGH — A section of Purefoy Road in Chapel Hill is closed today as crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation install water valves as part of the South Columbia Street enhancement project.
 
Purefoy Road is closed to through traffic from South Columbia Street to Mason Farm Road until 7 p.m. The work will continue tomorrow, requiring this section of Purefoy Road to be closed from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
 
Driveway access to homes on Purefoy Road will be maintained throughout the closure.  Property owners will be able to access Purefoy Road from Mason Farm Road only.  The intersection of Purefoy Road and South Columbia Street will be inaccessible during the closure.
 
Message boards will notify motorists of the closure and alternate routes.  Local traffic is encouraged to use the following alternate routes:
  •  From N.C. 86/South Columbia Street, take Mason Farm Road to Purefoy Road.
  • From U.S. 15-501, take Mason Farm Road to Purefoy Road.
