Expect Midday Lane Closures on I-40, U.S. 117/N.C. 133 Bridges April 8-12 during Inspections Monday, April 01, 2013

RALEIGH — Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will conduct routine inspections on the I-40 and U.S. 117/N.C. 133 bridges over the Cape Fear River in New Hanover County beginning Monday, April 8 through Friday, April 12.

The inspections will require intermittent lane closures on the eastbound and westbound I-40 bridges and on the U.S. 177/N.C. 113 bridge between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day.

Motorists should plan for extra time crossing the bridges during that week and use caution in the area.
