Quick Road in Caswell County to Close Monday for Bridge Replacement Tuesday, March 26, 2013

RALEIGH — Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close Quick Road between Lick Fork Creek Road and Park Springs Road in Caswell County beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 1 to replace the bridge over Hogan’s Creek. Construction of the new bridge is expected to be complete by Aug. 28.

Motorists will use the following signed detour route:
  • Quick Road to Park Springs Road to Law Road to U.S. 29 to Mayfield Road to U.S. 29 Business to Worsham Mill Road to Lick Fork Creek Road back to Quick Road.
This project is part of the NCDOT’s $450 million state-funded bridge plan for 2011-13, which calls for preservation, repairs or replacement of bridges statewide.  The existing bridge was built in 1957 and is considered functionally obsolete. This means the bridge is safe, but it needs to be replaced to meet current and future traffic demands.

NCDOT reminds motorists to stay alert, watch signs for construction information and obey the posted speed limit.
