WHAT: “No Need 2 Speed” campaign kickoff
WHEN: Monday, March 25 at 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Reedy Creek Road bridge at I-4
COMMENTS: Local law enforcement officers will be kicking off the “No Need 2 Speed” campaign by conducting live demonstrations for the media using the newest speed detection technology – the LIDAR (Laser Imaging Detection And Ranging instrument). The campaign starts Monday, March 25 and lasts through Sunday, March 31.
N.C. Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary of Intergovernmental Affairs and Budget Coordination La Nica Allison and GHSP Director Becky Wallace will be available for interviews.
Officers cited more than 13,000 motorists for speeding during last year’s “No Need 2 Speed” campaign.
