Antioch Church Road in Johnston County Closed for Bridge Maintenance Monday, March 18, 2013

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation has closed a section of Antioch Church Road north of Selma in Johnston County until Tuesday, March 26. The closure is necessary for crews to perform scheduled maintenance to extend the life of the bridge over Cat Tail Creek.

Work includes replacing the timber piles for the 61 year-old bridge, as well as stabilizing the banks under the bridge.

Antioch Church Road between N.C. 96 and Pine Tree Road will be closed to through traffic during construction. Local traffic will have access within the closure; however, they will not be able to cross the bridge.

During the closure, motorists traveling east on Antioch Church Road will turn right on Pine Tree Road, left on Price Road and left on N.C. 96 back to Antioch Church Road. Motorists traveling west on Antioch Church Road will turn left on N.C. 96, right on Price Road and right on Pine Tree Road back to Antioch Church Road.
