Additional hours expected to improve customer service, reduce wait times
RALEIGH – The Greenville Division of Motor Vehicles office will continue to offer new Saturday hours this weekend in a move to reduce overall wait times and improve customer service for drivers. The Greenville DMV office has also been open an additional hour each afternoon for the past week, staying open until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The N.C. DMV began the expanded hours last Saturday at three offices that are part of the first phase of a statewide roll out. The Greenville DMV office is located at 3400 S. Memorial Dr., Suite 9, at Carolina East Center. Its phone number is (252) 830-3456.
“We know North Carolinians have busy schedules,” said NCDMV Commissioner James Forte. “These new hours will make it more convenient for drivers to conduct business at DMV so we encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity."
The office is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to Noon. Most regular driver license services, including regular road tests, will be offered during this time, with the exception of CDL skills tests, medical re-exams and motorcycle skills tests. The office is also open for extended hours, from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. during the week. Testing services will be available until 5:30 p.m., but regular road tests will not be administered during rush hour.
Over the coming months, DMV will announce the participation of additional offices offering extended hours. The next phase will begin with Saturday hours on April 6 at the South Durham, South Fayetteville and North Charlotte offices.
