CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will begin a $631,000 project to replace the bridge on Gold Hill Road over Little Cold Water Creek at 9 a.m. Monday, March 4, weather permitting.
Contractor Eastern Structures LLC of Mooresville will remove the bridge located northeast of Concord, install new guardrail, and improve the approaches to the bridge on Gold Hill Road. During construction, motorists will follow a posted detour from Gold Hill Road to N.C. 73 to Irish Potato Road back to Gold Hill Road.
The bridge should open to traffic July 29, while vegetation and reforestation work continues through January 2014.
