NCDOT to Close U.S. 421 North in Forsyth County for Bridge Maintenance Work Friday, February 22, 2013

Motorists must take detour route around work zone

RALEIGH – N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close the northbound lane of U.S. 421 in Forsyth County west of Lewisville on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. for bridge maintenance work, weather permitting.

Crews will be removing drift, or debris that lodges itself around bridge supports, at the bridge over the Yadkin River. Signs will be in place to mark the detour from Shallowford Road (Exit 246) to Dinkins Bottom Road, which will return motorists to U.S. 421 at Exit 249.

NCDOT encourages motorists traveling around the work zone to go slow, pay attention to construction-related signs and allow extra time to reach your destinations.
