I-40 Westbound Closed at Freeman Mill Road in Greensboro Due to Multi-Vehicle Crash Thursday, February 14, 2013

RALEIGH – All westbound lanes of I-40 are closed at Freeman Mill Road (Exit 218) in Guilford County due to a crash that occurred today at approximately 7:30 a.m. and involved an overturned tractor trailer and 10 other vehicles. This section of I-40 West is expected to remain closed until this afternoon while authorities investigate the crash and crews clean up the scene as quickly as possible.

All traffic is being diverted from I-40 West to I-85 Business South (Exit 219) to I-73 North (Exit 33) back to I-40 West (Exit 103B).
To avoid delays prior to Exit 218, motorists traveling on I-40 West/I-85 South headed to Greensboro and points west are strongly encouraged to continue on I-85 South to I-73 North (Exit 121) to I-40 West.
