Repairs Completed Over Weekend to Restore Power
RALEIGH – Repairs have been completed to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles' headquarters building at 1100 New Bern Ave. in Raleigh, and full power has been restored to the Division’s offices. DMV headquarters will operate on a regular schedule Monday, Feb. 11, opening at 8 a.m.
The power outage, which began the morning of Feb. 7, caused the building to close for two business days while permanent repairs were made to 1950s-era equipment protecting one of the main electrical cables supplying power to the building.
A check of all operating systems in the building was completed Sunday afternoon in preparation for the building’s re-opening Monday morning. DMV staff at the headquarters building provides vehicle registration and titling services as well as driver license production.
