Town of Montreat, NCDOT to Hold Public Meeting on Replacement of Texas Road Bridge over Flat Creek in Montreat Wednesday, November 14, 2012

RALEIGH — The Town of Montreat and the N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 27, on the proposed replacement of the bridge on Texas Road over Flat Creek in Montreat. The meeting will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Walkup Building, located at 300 Community Center Circle in Montreat.

Representatives from the Town of Montreat and NCDOT will be available to answer questions and receive comments about the proposed project. Project maps will be on display. The public may attend any time during the scheduled hours. There will not be a formal presentation.

The existing bridge is currently closed to vehicular traffic due to safety concerns related to its state of deterioration. In addition to improving safety, replacing the bridge would support pedestrian connectivity and improve access to community facilities.
