U.S. 29 South in Rockingham County to Close For Bridge Repairs Friday, October 26, 2012

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will begin a bridge repair project this weekend on U.S. 29 South between N.C. 87 and U.S. 29 Business south of Reidsville.
Crews will close this section of U.S. 29 South from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, Sunday through Thursday, beginning Sunday, Oct. 28, weather permitting.  The project is expected to be complete by Sunday, Nov. 25.
Motorists on U.S. 29 South should use the following signed detour:
  • Take Exit 149 (N.C. 87 North);
  • Follow N.C. 87 North for 1.4 miles;
  • Turn left onto U.S. 29 Business South; 
  • Follow U.S. 29 Business South for 3.9 miles; and
  • Return to U.S. 29 South via the ramp to Greensboro.
