Traffic Shift on U.S. 1 South this Weekend in Wake County Thursday, October 11, 2012

RALEIGH — Both lanes of U.S. 1 South will be temporarily shifted onto a newly constructed section of road between N.C. 55 and New Hill Holleman Road in Wake County from Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. through Monday, Oct. 15 at 6 a.m., weather permitting.

The shift is necessary to allow the repave the existing lanes of U.S. 1 southbound.  At least one southbound lane will remain open at all times.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
