RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a
public meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 23, on the proposed replacement of the bridge on
East Fork Road over East Fork Savannah Creek in Jackson County. NCDOT proposes
to replace the current bridge with a two-lane bridge in the same general
location. During construction, traffic will be maintained on a temporary detour
bridge east of the existing bridge.
The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the
Savannah Volunteer Fire Department, located at 18 Ralph Tatham Road in Sylva.
At the meeting, NCDOT representatives will provide
information, answer questions and accept written comments regarding the
proposed project. Comments and information received will be taken into
consideration as work on the project progresses. Citizens may drop in anytime
during the meeting hours. There will not be a formal presentation.
For additional information or to provide comments, contact NCDOT
Division 14 Bridge Manager Josh Deyton at (828) 488-0902 or email@example.com.
