RALEIGH — The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles announced today that a new license plate agency to be operated by Yancey County will open on Tuesday, Oct. 2. The new agency will be located at 14 Town Square in Burnsville. It replaces an agency located on Main Street that closed in August 2011.
The agency will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags and duplicate registrations. Currently, about 120 LPAs operate across North Carolina.
Online registration renewals, duplicate registrations, and orders for personalized and special license plates are available at www.ncdot.gov/dmv.
