Lane Closures to Begin Monday on South Columbia Street in Chapel Hill Friday, July 20, 2012

RALEIGH — Beginning next week, motorists may encounter traffic delays on South Columbia Street in Chapel Hill as crews close lanes for resurfacing.
Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close various lanes of South Columbia Street between South Road and Cameron Avenue on weekdays from 9 a.m. until sunset, beginning Monday, July 23. The daily lane closures are expected to continue for approximately two weeks and are necessary for crews to perform milling and paving operations. At least one lane of South Columbia Street will be open at all times to traffic.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
