NCDOT to close a section of McIlwaine Road in Mecklenburg County for bridge replacement Friday, July 13, 2012

 

CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of McIlwaine Road in Huntersville to replace the bridge over McDowell Creek beginning Monday, July 23, weather permitting.

 

The $429,000 contract was awarded to Dane Construction of Mooresville to remove the existing bridge and substructure and install guardrail.

 

Traffic will be detoured around the project from McIlwaine Road to McCoy Road to Hambright Road to Beatties Ford Road back to McIlwaine Road. The bridge replacement is scheduled to be completed November 19, and the contractor can continue vegetation and reforestation work through May 18, 2013.
