CHARLOTTE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of Griffin Green Boulevard in Stanfield to replace the bridge over Cucumber Creek beginning Monday, July 23, weather permitting.

The $453,000 contract was awarded to TCB Builders Inc. to remove the existing bridge and substructure, build up the shoulders on the approaches to the bridge, and install guardrail.

Traffic will be detoured around the project from Oak Grove Road to Big Lick Road to Swift Road to Silver Road back to Griffin Green Boulevard. The bridge replacement is scheduled to be completed December 15, and the contractor can continue vegetation and reforestation work through June 13, 2013.
