RALEIGH—One of two lanes on I-40 West in Iredell County, west of Statesville, will be closed this weekend for bridge work, weather permitting.
The closure will be in place between U.S. 64/90 and Stamey Farm Road (mile markers 146-148). It is scheduled to begin tonight at 8 p.m. and end at noon on Sunday, June 10.
Crews will be replacing the existing I-40 bridge deck with a latex concrete overlay. Additional night and weekend lane closures will be required over the next month, with all work being weather permitting.
As a detour, traffic should take Exit 148, turn left at the top of the ramp onto U.S.64/90 (Garner Bagnal Boulevard), right on U.S. 70 (Hickory Highway) and then right onto Stamey Farm Road back to I-40.
