WHAT:                      N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program to kick off Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.


WHEN:                      Tuesday, May 1 at 2 p.m.                  


WHERE:                   Camp Lejeune’s Bogue Field

                                    Marine Corps Auxiliary Land Field

                                    N.C. 24 (5 miles east of Swansboro)

                                    Cape Carteret


COMMENTS:           The N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program will partner with the United States Marine Corps to kick off May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.


GHSP’s Director Becky Wallace, along with local law enforcement, Marines and key representatives from the motorcycle safety community will declare the importance of motorcycle safety and the dangers surrounding today’s motorcyclist.


In addition, motor officers will participate in a motorcycle skills rodeo. The rodeo includes obstacle courses that test the riders’ ability to maneuver through six challenging skills courses.  Trophies will be presented to the three best riders.
