OLD U.S. 1 CLOSURE IN APEX EXTENDED UNTIL JULY Friday, April 27, 2012

RALEIGH — The temporary closure on Old U.S. 1(South Salem Street) in Apex between Kelly Road and Apex Barbeque Road has been extended as a result of CSX Railroad coordination. The contractors plan to re-open this section on July 27, 2012, weather permitting.

This section of road has been closed since May 2011 for the construction of two bridges over the Western Wake Freeway.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
