Bridge Replacements on Stokestown-St. Johns Road in Pitt County Begin Monday Friday, April 27, 2012

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will replace the two bridges on Stokestown-St. Johns Road between Brown Hodges Road and Cannon Price Road just east of Grifton beginning on Monday, April 30, at 8 a.m., weather permitting.

The bridges will be replaced with pipe culverts and work is scheduled to be complete May 28.

Motorists traveling north along Stokestown-St. Johns Road will follow a signed detour from Browns Hodges Road to Griffin-Whaley Road to Hanrahan Road, before returning to Stokestown-St. Johns Road. Southbound motorists will follow that same route in reverse.
