NCDOT to Replace Bridge on Penny Hill Road in Pitt County Friday, April 20, 2012

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will replace the bridge on Penny Hill Road over Mitchell Swamp near Falkland beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, April 23, weather permitting.

 

The project to replace the bridge will take about three months. A signed detour will direct motorists to an alternate route around the bridge site during the construction period.

 

Motorists traveling east should use the following signed detour:

 

             N.C. 33 to Thigpen Road. Right on Thigpen Road to W.C. Cobb Road. Right on W.C. Cobb Road back to Penny Hill Road.

 

Motorists traveling west should use the following signed detour:

 

             Penny Hill Road to Thigpen Road. Turn left on Thigpen Road to N.C. 33. Turn left on N.C. 33 back to Penny Hill Road.
