Bridge will be opened periodically
RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close one of two lanes in each direction on the Cape Fear River Memorial Bridge from Friday, March 23 at 9 p.m. until Monday, March 26 at 5 a.m.
In addition, there will be multiple bridge openings throughout the weekend.
The same lane closures and bridge openings will take place again on Friday, March 30 at 9 p.m. until Monday, April 2 at 5 a.m.
The closures are necessary for mechanical repairs on the bridge.
Motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
