NCDOT to Replace Bridges on Waterside Church Road in Greene County Thursday, February 23, 2012

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will replace two bridges on Waterside Church Road over Little Contentnea Creek, and resurface the road between the bridges, beginning Monday, Feb. 27, at 8 a.m., weather permitting.

The project, which was awarded to Dane Construction Inc. for $1.6 million, is scheduled to be complete by Oct. 24.

During the bridge replacement Waterside Church Road will be closed to traffic at the bridge sites.

Motorists traveling east on Waterside Church Road should use the following signed detour:

  • Willow Green Road to Darden Farm Road to Moye-Turnage Road to U.S. 13 to Ballads Crossroads to Pocosin Road.

Motorists traveling west on Waterside Church Road should use the following signed detour:

  • Pocosin Road to Ballads Crossroads to U.S. 13 to Moye-Turnage Road to Darden Farm Road to Willow Green Road.
